We found ourselves in Laguna over the weekend because of a press event, and figured we’d stop by Laguna’s Paseo de Sta. Rosa (known for its outlet stores) for a bit of shopping.
Seriously, guys, if you’re looking for bargains on big, popular brands, this is the place to look for them. There are a ton of options, with discounts going as high as 70%. Here are a few of our favorite stores:
1. Bench/ Depot
A treasure trove of great bargains from brands, both foreign and local, under the Bench/ group, such as Pedro, Charles & Keith, Bench, Mothercare, La Senza, Celio, F&X, and Cotton On. There are two stores actually, both with sprawling, large spaces. Also a plus, the atmosphere of the stores do not feel like most outlet stores (read: dark and depressing), which makes for a pretty comfortable shopping experience.
Great pieces from the popular Giordano brand at bottom-of-the-barrel prices. They have a particularly great selection of long-sleeved shirts and pants in a variety of sizes for guys and girls. Discounts as high as 50-70% are fairly common.
3. 158 Designer’s Blvd.
158 Designers’ Blvd. mostly sells expensive, luxury brands, so this is a good place to go to if you’re looking for discounts on your favorite high-end designer brands. At the time we went, they were selling a pretty decent selection of Tod’s and Bally bags and shoes, with discounts as high as 30-40%. This translates to a staggering Php25k to Php30k discount for really expensive items.
If you’re into flip-flops (and which Filipino isn’t?), drop by Bambu. They carry the sandal brands Ipanema, Grendha and Rider, and give discounts as high as 50% off. They have very accommodating sales staff too, which made for a wonderful shopping experience.
